Several Free Cash Moves in the Chelmsford Fall Town Meeting Warrant

The meeting opens Oct. 19, and the warrant is now available online.

Chelmsford town meeting representatives will decide on multiple free cash moves when they gather on Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Among the 19 articles in the warrant is one to fund the Fiscal Year 2015 snow deficit and another amending the FY16 operating budget to fund a special education funding shortfall with Chelmsford Public Schools. Both articles propose puling money from free cash.

The town’s free cash balance was certified at $2.2 million as of July 1, 2015. Funding all the warrant articles as they are currently written would require all the available free cash balance as it was on July 1.
