Thunderstorms, Hail Possible in Chelmsford Today
Thunderstorms and lightning have already hit part of the region.

There is a chance for strong thunderstorms in Chelmsford and throughout southeastern Essex and Middlesex counties on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour can be expected with the storms.
Forecasters warn people to get indoors when storms approach. Winds today may be strong enough to cause minor damages, such as downed tree branches and urban flooding.

There is no safe place outside when thunderstorms are in the area, according to federal weather officials. If you hear thunder, you are likely within striking distance of the storm. Just remember, “When thunder roars, go indoors.”
The main threats will be damaging wind gusts and hail. Additionally, heavy rainfall may result in localized flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
