Earlier this month, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas (D-Lowell), stopped by the Chelmsford Public Library to honor several area students who participated in the 2013 Congressional Art Competition.
Chelmsford's Tanya Dmimitrov finished as a runner up along with Andover's Kevin Lee, Dracut's Austin Wells and Westford's Tiffany Lu.
The grand prize went to Joshua Allen of Andover.
Allen will have his artwork displayed at the U.S. Capital Building for one year and received a college scholarship for an arts related education.
“It has always been a great opportunity to encourage and share the artistic talents of our high school students throughout the Third District," said Tsongas. "Art plays an important role in the lives of us all. From a young age, art helps us become well-rounded individuals and encourages creative expression. Even during difficult economic times, it is so important that we continue to provide funding for public art and art education."
