Janitor Who Allegedly Ripped Off Chelmsford High School Wanted By Police

Police were looking for Lamar R. Wright, 34, of Mattapan Friday afternoon.

A night custodian who worked at Chelmsford High School has been been accused of stealing multiple objects from his place of employment, and Chelmsford Police asked for the public’s help in tracking this suspect down.

Unconfirmed sources report that the suspect may already be in custody.

Police arrested Lamar R. Wright, 34, of Mattapan, early Friday morning, and charged him with two counts of larceny, fraudulent use of a credit card, and stealing less than $250 worth of property.

After police released him on personal recognizance, he failed to show up for his arraignment Friday afternoon.

“The defendant betrayed the trust of the administration, staff and students at the High School and we will work to ensure his actions are prosecuted,” said Chelmsford Chief of Police James M. Spinney, in a statement.

Surveillance footage from the school, as well as from a convenience store where Wright allegedly used a stolen credit card, were used to build the case for his arrest, according to police.
