A new statewide report urges districts like Chicopee to adopt Breakfast in the Classroom, highlighting Springfield’s success and offering grants of up to $20,000 per school to help make the switch. 
• Pedestrian struck by vehicle at busy Chicopee intersection (wwlp.com) — A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Monday morning at East Main Street and Broadway in Chicopee and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Police say the driver stayed at the scene, cooperated with investigators, and later received a citation, though further details have not been released.
• CDC warns of significant rise in norovirus cases nationwide (wwlp.com) — Reported from Chicopee, health officials say norovirus is spreading earlier and faster than usual nationwide, driven largely by a dominant variant. Residents are urged to step up handwashing, disinfect surfaces, and avoid close contact with sick people to help limit outbreaks as cases climb.
