Concord Fatal Route 2 Crash Under Investigation
An 87-year-old Concord woman died of her injuries in the four car crash on Route 2.

CONCORD, MA — A four car crash on Route 2 east in Concord on Thursday is under investigation after one of the drivers died of her injuries.
State police said Denise Frangules, 87, of Concord, was suffering from serious injuries when police got to the scene along with a medical helicopter — she died of her injuries at the hospital.
All four cars involved in the crash were driving in the left lane on Route 2 when they slowed down for traffic. A 35-year-old man from Arlington driving a Jeep, crashed into the rear of the Honda Civic. That initial crash caused a chain reaction crash where the Honda was pushed into a Toyota Corolla and that car was pushed into a Ford Taurus.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota were a 90-year-old woman and a 90-year-old man from Concord. Both were both taken to Emerson Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford was a 54-year-old man from Wilmington — he was also taken to Emerson Hospital. The people in the Jeep were not injured.
The cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troopers assigned to State Police-Concord, Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services.
