Electrical Fire Sparks at Middlesex School

Concord Fire Department cleared the scene around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.

Where there’s smoke, there’s often fire. But it’s not always a big one.

And that was the case on Thursday, Aug. 1, when the Concord Fire Department responded to a reported electrical fire at the Middlesex School

The call came in about 2:15 p.m., but by the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the “very small” electrical fire was already out, according to Fire Captain Tom Judge.

Responders shut down power to the area opened the ceiling to confirm the fire was out and had not spread, Judge said.

The fire reportedly occurred in one of the dormitories under construction at Middlesex School, a private high school located on Lowell Road in Concord. Damage was limited to the immediate area around the small fire, Judge said.
