Journeying with Harriet Tubman: Selfless, Courageous, Committed

At the Concord Free Public Library

Harriet Tubman (1822-1913) is an important figure in African American and the nation’s history. Heralded for escorting many slaves from bondage to freedom, her life had many riveting facets. Living History Performer Eddie Murphy brings Harriet Tubman radiantly back to life for audiences throughout the country.

The Concord Free Public Library is excited to host Eddie Murphy on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library, 129 Main Street in Concord. Please register HERE for the event.

A Wellsville Ohio native, Eddie Murphy spent her career working as Director of Retiree/Emeriti Activites for Hughes Aircraft Company and then UCLA, learning as she went how to fashion her own retirement; eight years ago she did just that, returning to her hometown to work on revitalization efforts as founding trustee and President of the Wellsville Community Foundation—and reenacting the words and spirit of her heroine, abolitionist Harriet Tubman, throughout the country.
