5 Things You Need to Know Today, April 22

Before you start your day, here are five things you need to know.

It’s Friday and another week is over. Here are five things you need to know before you start your day and head into the weekend:

  1. It’s Earth Day, so do something to help the environment. Whether it’s picking up any trash your find at or turning off the water while you brush your teeth, try to do something earth-friendly today. While you're at it, grab your travel mug and head to Starbucks where they are filling travel mugs with coffee for free all day. Unfortunately, there are no locations in town, so you’ll have to traveling to neighboring Peabody, Beverly or Salem to do so.
  2. Need to entertain your kids for one more day before they head back to school? It's at Frankenstein's Art in Salem from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Kids will paint wood crafts, color puppets, play games, use the porcupine wall and more. Pizza will be served for lunch and all children will receive goodie bags. Must provide own transportation. The event is sponsored by Danvers Recreation.
  3. . Every Friday, the store holds two Friday night Magic events. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and entry is $8. Prizes are determined by the number of players entering the tournament. At roughly 9:30 p.m. there is a second event. The second event is a booster draft tournament with a $15 entry. Each player receives three Magic booster packs to draft from. In addition to prizes players are eligible to receive door prizes as well as FNM promo cards provided by Wizards of the Coast.
  4. will take on Wakefield today at 11 am. at Danvers High. Go team!
  5. Have you decorated your Easter eggs yet? Make sure you hurry up and fill those baskets — Easter is Sunday. Don't forget to snap a photo of your colorful creations and upload them to the site — just click "add your own photos" under the photo to the right of this story.
