Kohls Shoplifter Also Charged With Three Drug Counts

The following is an excerpt from the log: Friday Dec. 16 through Sunday Dec. 18:

Friday Dec. 16

  • At 8:05 p.m. police arrested Stacy Melican, 43, of 16 Perkins Ave in Seabrook. Melican was reported shoplifting more than $250 in merchandise from , and was also charged with two counts of possession of Class B drugs, as well as one count of possession of a Class E drug.
  • A break and entering attempt was reported to police from Lummus Ave at 9:45 p.m.
  • Larceny from a vehicle was reported at at 11:12 p.m.

Saturday Dec. 17

  • A dog barking at 20 Wenham St. was reported to police at 12:01 a.m.
  • Kittens were found on a doorstep on Braman Street at 10:11 a.m. Animal Control was notified.
  • A rear windshield was reported smashed at Target at 3:57 p.m.
  • Michael Defort, 34, of 235 North St. in Salem, was arrested at the on warrant charges at 6:38 pm.
  • An intoxicated male from Peabody was placed in protective custody after he was found walking on Route 114 near .
  • A vehicle was reported maliciously damaged at the at 10:02 p.m.

Sunday Dec. 18

  • At 4:47 a.m. police were dispatched to Broad Street on report of a female yelling for help. Police arrested Christopher Moore, 23, of 93 Water St. on charges of domestic assault and battery, malicious destruction of property over $250, and intimidation of a witness. 
  • Police were called to on report of dogs unleashed in the park at 9:35 p.m. When police arrived they had already left.
  • A domestic dispute on Bay Drive resulted in the arrest of Michael Morando, 34, of 14202 Bay Drive at 12:09 p.m. Morando was charged with domestic assault and battery.
  • At 2:09 p.m. police arrested Andrea Bertolino, 33, of 95 Maplewood Ave in Gloucester after she was reported shoplifting towels from .
  • A vehicle's window was reported smashed and broken into at at 3:57 p.m.
  • A vehicle's window was reported smashed and broken into at at 7:29 p.m.
  • A vehicle was reported broken into at at 8:10 p.m.
  • A purse was reported stolen from at 9:12 p.m.
