Two Arrested for Prostitution at Route 1 Massage Parlor

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Two 48-year-old females were arrested following a tip off to the that Newbury Body Work, a massage parlor at 435 Newbury St. was offering more than massages.

According to Sergeant Bob Bettencourt, police arrested Xiaoping Wan, 48, of 10 Walford Way in Charlestown, and Quinfei Chan, 48, of 29 Main St. in Malden at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, both on charges of offering sex for a fee and deriving support from prostitution.

Bettencourt said the police started the investigation in September, following several complaints that the business was offering sexual services.

Originally the two were going to be arraigned on Monday Dec. 19 in the Salem District Court, but because they requested a Chinese interpreter, the arraignment was postponed until January.
