Apple Store Meltdown, Too Many Calls: Dedham Police Log

May 14

3:58 p.m. - During a traffic stop on Needham Street, a driver was issued a citation for operating of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding.

9:31 a.m. - A resident told police that he received 30 to 50 unwanted phone calls from a number with no caller ID.

May 22

4:31 p.m. - A criminal complaint was sought against a woman shoplifting at the Boston General Store. She will be charged with larceny over $250.

5:45 p.m. - Police responded to a report of malicious damage at the Apple Store at Legacy Place. An employee told an officer that a customer became upset when he was told that the store's staff would be unable to repair his computer due to its age. At the end of the conversation, the customer slammed his cloth-life brief case against a chair and thew it against a wall panel. He then took his computer out of the bag and kicked it in the air towards the front door before picking it up and slamming it on a table. He then left the store and continued to destroy his computer on an outside bench. Legacy Place security took the computer and threw it away. The man was issued a summons for malicious damage over $250.

May 23

9:14 a.m. - A larceny incident was reported at Best Buy on Route 1.
