Dedham Appoints Joe Hamilton As Veterans Service Officer

The Veterans Service Officer works to deliver essential services to the veterans and dependents in Dedham.

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham has a new Verteran Services Officer. Dedham Town Manager Leon Goodwin appointed Joe Hamilton to the position of Veterans Service Officer.

The VSO works to deliver essential services to the veterans and dependents in Dedham and provides referrals and assistance to a range of benefits, such as the G.I. Bill, a home purchase program, and the local property tax exemption.

Hamilton enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1999 and served until 2004. Hamilton is a member of the American Legion Post 18, where he is the current commander. He has coached baseball in Dedham for 16 years, the past six years at Dedham High School.

"I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work with and help veterans in the community I grew up in and love," Hamilton said.
