• Boston Archbishop to meet with priest over controversial nativity scene (wpri.com) — A Dedham parish’s politically charged Nativity scene has prompted Boston’s archbishop to schedule a January meeting with the priest at Saint Susanna. The display replaces the Holy Family with an “ICE was here” sign to spark discussion about immigrant treatment, drawing criticism from the archdiocese as divisive while the priest defends it as a social-justice reflection similar to themed Vatican Nativities. 
• New info released on Christmas Eve fire that killed woman in her 20s in Needham (nbcboston.com) — Dedham firefighters were among about 75 responders who battled a devastating four-alarm house fire in Needham early Christmas Eve that killed a woman in her 20s and displaced residents. Investigators say the blaze likely started accidentally in the home’s attached garage, and the cause remains under review as the community and first responders cope with the tragedy.
