Dedham to Hold 5th Citizens' Police Academy
The Citizens' Academy is a nine-week program designed to show Dedham residents how their police department works.

Chief Michael D’Entremont and the Dedham Police are proud to announce that we will be conducting the fifth Dedham Police Department Citizens’ Police Academy starting Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015
The Citizens’ Academy is a nine-week program designed to show Dedham residents first-hand information on how their police department works. Classes will run once a week and will meet at the Dedham Middle School, unless otherwise noted.
The Academy is available to any Dedham residents and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis with approximately 12 “Recruits” per Academy class.

The Academy will cover the following subject areas:
- Criminal Law and Procedures
- E-911 Dispatch
- Domestic Violence
- Narcotic Trends
- Crime Scene Investigations
- Alcohol Enforcement
- Metro-LEC
- Computer Crimes and Internet Safety
- Firearms
- Role of the Court System
All classes are taught by Dedham Police Officers.

The Academy class will also receive a tour of the Dedham Police Station and ride along with a Dedham Officer during a shift.
