DSM Concert with the Parkway Concert Orchestra: Sunday, May 15, 3:00-4:00pm at Saint Susanna Parish

This concert will feature students of Dedham School of Music in Pachabel's Canon in D. Violinist Caroline Dwyer, a student of the Dedham School of Music and winner of DSM's Concerto Competition, will perform the Allegretto from Violin Concerto No. 2 by Seitz.

Bluegrass Slow Jam: Tuesday, May 17, 7:30-9:00pm at MBACC

Designed for novice players, Bluegrass beginners, and “re-entry” players alike on traditional instruments like guitar, mandolin, and fiddle . . . and ukes are welcome, too!

To have the most fun, here's what we suggest you bring along with you:

  • your willingness to play - "All Are Welcome" and we support everyone
  • $5 or $10 or even $20 - we "pass the hat" to help pay our rent at the MBACC
  • your instrument - guitar, fiddle, uke, mandolin, whatever acoustic your fingers like
  • a Bluegrass state of mind - yes, this is a Bluegrass Jam

Here are examples of the kinds of 2 and 3 chord songs we play (nice and slow):

  • Rollin' in my Sweet Baby's Arms
  • Long Black Veil
  • I Am A Pilgrim
  • Will the Circle Be Unbroken
  • Blue Moon of Kentucky
  • Sittin' On Top of the World
  • Keep on the Sunny Side
  • Darlin' Maggie
