Eversource Questioned About Riverdale Outages
The selectmen got some answers about how the electric utility is going to address the recent increase in outages in the neighborhood.

DEDHAM, MA — Eversource will be working on repairs in response to recent power outrages in the Riverdale neighborhood.
Representatives from the electric utility were in front of the selectmen Thursday night to discuss the uptick that left some Dedham resident in the dark during the end of winter.
“Some of (the outages) were weather-related, some of them were not, some of them we can't understand how we lost power. It wasn’t once or twice, it was three or four times,” Selectman Brendan Keogh, the selectman who requested the meeting said.

March was a rough month for Dedham and many other communities when it came to keeping the lights on. Nearly 1,500 residents lost power in early March due to a snowstorm which brought hurricane-level winds to parts of the state. A few days later, a second storm caused about 600 home to lose power.
Eversource officials said there were four underground faults which caused outages, including ones on March 25 and April 2. An outage that took place on April 4 was a tree related issue.
