1. PathFinders Arts & Crafts Classes

Where/When: Dedham Parks and Recreation, 269 Common St. in Dedham/ Friday, Jan. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: The classes are open to children from 6 to 12-years-old.  So this will be a great way for kids to get creative, but registration is required.

2. Joe Young in Concert

Where/When: Paradise Cafe, 565 High St. in Dedham./ Saturday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m.

Why Go: With a voice and delivery that loosely resembles Ryan Adams, Joe Purdy, Ray LaMontagne, and Sean Hayes, Young has carved a niche for himself in the ears and hearts of listeners everywhere. From standard pop-folk, to soul searching ballads, and a smattering of inquisitive rambling Americana, Young plays music that takes you on a journey.

3. PathFinders All Ages Cross Country Skiing w/ Small Group Instruction

Where/When:  190 Park Rd. in Weston./  Sunday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m.

Why Go:  This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to either have some winter fun or finally learn how to ski.

4. Tai Chi Classes

Where/When: The Dedham Community House, 671 High St. in Dedham./ Sunday, Jan. 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: This class is not only for beginners but it's also open to kids and seniors.

5. Kids Craft

Where/When: Sheep Skate Yarn & Craft, 549 High St. in Dedham./ Sunday, Jan. 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Why Go:  This is a great time for kids 8-years-old and older to get together at the Sheep Skate table and create.  Each week they do something different.  It could be clay, beads, weaving, jewelry, you never know.
