Help Dedham Kids Get to Iowa for Problem Solvers Competition
These six graders won the state competition and they were the only Massachusetts team invited to the June 2015 national event.

And who said kids don’t like to learn these days?
A group of Dedham sixth graders placed first at the Massachusetts Future Problem Solvers State Bowl in March and the team is now taking donations to fund a trip to Ames, Iowa for the FPS International Conference.
Future Problem Solving is a competitive academic program that aims to engage students in grades four through 12 in creative and critical thinking by presenting them with plausible real world problems of the future.

At the Iowa conference, teams from across the globe will work to brainstorm solutions to problems related to intellectual property in future society.
The Guinea Pigs were the first Dedham team established and the unit helped to organize a town-wide program that has grown to 8 teams. The group created a GoFundMe campaign on Monday in hopes of raising $3,000 before the FPS International Conference begins on June 11, 2015.

Any additional funds raised over $3,000 will be put toward other conference-related expenses incurred by families, according to the GoFundMe page.
