Legacy Place Holds Check Presentation for Literary Legacy Winners

From the 15 entries, Legacy Place narrowed it down to three winners, who received college scholarships.

This past week, Legacy Place held a check presentation for The Literary Legacy Competition scholarship winners. The winning high school students conducted interviews with Athleta, Wicked Restaurant & Wine Bar, and The Paper Store.

The Literary Legacy Competition allows high school juniors and seniors to hone their journalistic skills by interviewing a Legacy Place business manager or owner. Earlier this year, Legacy Place matched interested students with a business. The students then conducted interviews and the submitted their final articles to Legacy Place. From the 15 entries, Legacy Place narrowed it down to three winners, who received college scholarships.

The first place winner, Makeyla Haynes of Hyde Park, is a junior at Boston Trinity Academy. Makeyla received a $1,000 scholarship for her article on Jackie Roppolo, general manager of Athleta. 

The second place winner, Srishti Lulla of Weston, is a senior at Weston High School. Srishti received a $500 scholarship for her article on Wicked Restaurant & Wine Bar. The third place winner, Brett Iarronbino of Westwood, a junior at Westwood High School, also received $500 for his piece on The Paper Store.
