Motorist Extricated From Car After Crash in Dedham

Fire officials in Dedham were forced to extricate a motorist from their car following a serious crash Thursday afternoon.

Rescuers responded to Common Street at Channing Road to tend to a vehicle which veered off the road and through a fence.

Needham fire crews also responded to the crash. An off-duty firefighter helped assess and stabilize the victim. After crews successfully extricated the driver, the individual was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The extent of the victim’s injuries was not released. Their identity was not immediately made known.

Streets in the area were closed while crews worked to clear the scene.
