Opinion: Resident Supports Alix O'Connell For Parks And Rec.
In a letter to the editor, Christine Ryan tells residents why she believes Alix O'Connell is right for the job.
A letter to the editor from Dedham resident Christine Ryan:
With our aging population and more young families coming to Dedham, we need to elect officials who have the vision, expertise and financial rigor to move us into the future. Our future planning needs to evolve toward ideas and projects that are viable for the entire community (all ages) with different levels of ability and mobility.
Alix O’Connell is running for Parks and Recreation Commission, and I hope you join me in voting for her on April 13, 2019. She is the mom of young children currently active in Dedham Parks and Recreation programs, an attorney with nearly a decade of experience advising municipal governments, and has expertise running a local non-profit sports league, serving as a board member and league manager for Dedham Youth Lacrosse since 2016.

Alix will bring fiscal responsibility to the commission to ensure we are spending our tax dollars wisely and steadily advance recreation and wellness programs for the entire community. She will also increase communication with the public to better serve our needs, and work to simplify the enrollment process for programs.
