Police: Dedham Man Charged After Emotional Outburst, Xanax and 65 Grams of Possible Heroin Found

The man also reportedly claimed he had $100,000 on him before throwing money in the air.

Police responded to a 10:30 p.m. call on Sunday, Feb. 22 for an emotionally disturbed person near 15 Dunster Rd.

The Boston Police Department reported that officers found an agitated man. The man would not speak with them. He instead reached into his backpack and began throwing US paper currency in the air while claiming that there was $100,000 in his backpack. The man also said he was a big time drug dealer.

Officers struggled with the man after attempting to subdue him. EMS transported him to an area hospital.

Approximately half a kilogram of Xanax tablets and 65 grams of a substance believed to be heroin were found in the man’s backpack. Over $34,000 was also found.

The man, Angelos Karagelidis, 43, of Dedham, was charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking Xanax and resisting arrest.
