D-S Boosters Triathlon Seeking Sponsers

The D-S Boosters are beginning to speak with business sponsors for their 2011 triathlon. Business sponsors get exposure to over 1000 families from many surrounding towns and states. The 2011 Dover-Sherborn Boosters Triathlon is to be held on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8:00 a.m. The sprint level race is in its seventh year and has become very popular with experienced triathletes and first-timers alike. The race includes a 0.25 mile swim, 14.8 mile bike, and 3.4 mile run. Registration for the race has been filled up and closed by early August in the last 6 years. Sign up early to guarantee a spot in the race. There will be a post-race brunch buffet with the support of over 200 volunteers.

The Dover-Sherborn Boosters Triathlon is a locally planned and locally run event that has been developed to benefit the Dover-Sherborn Boosters. Booster funding allows the high school and middle school to continue providing quality athletic experiences for the students. The mission is to highlight the Boosters organization and the towns of Dover and Sherborn while providing an event that focuses on health and exercise.

The race winds through the scenic roads of Dover and Sherborn past farms, rivers, and antique houses. The swim is in Farm Pond in Sherborn and the run finishes Olympic style on the new track at Dover-Sherborn High School.
