Letter to the Editor: Caruso Thanks Supporters After Winning Caucus
The following is a letter to the editor by Sherborn Selectmen candidate Peter Caruso.

I wish to thank the hearty souls who came out on a snowy night to attend Sherborn’s Annual Caucus. Of course I especially want to thank those who marked a number 2 on their slips of paper honoring me with their trust and confidence to do the right thing on behalf of all folks in Town. I must also publicly thank Mike Giaimo for nominating me with his artfully chosen words.
No matter what the outcome turned out to be, the real victory belongs to the Sherborn residents for all the fine people willing to step up and give their time, energy, passion, and expertise to help continue making Sherborn a great place to live and raise a family.
I must also say I appreciate the sentiments expressed by Ed, Russ, and even quite recently by Selectman Twining about also serving the interests of the silent majority in town. Heck, for 20 years I was awfully quiet – in fact I don’t even think I knew about this Caucus thing until a few years ago. I was busy and active in other ways in Town, primarily in order to nurture my children during their important growth years.

Having seen many Sherborn kids go from toddler to young adulthood I can attest that we sure are doing something right in this Town. They come out well educated, fully prepared for success in their college and subsequent professional careers, have the makings of being good citizens, and seem to have established lifelong friendships with others from Town and across the river. It can’t be anything in the water, so it must be how we raise them, thanks in a big way to the support of the whole community.
We can be proud we are all doing good things in this jewel of a Town. And thankful that so many are willing to do what they can so others may enjoy these bounties for generations to come. Like others willing and able to serve, I will do my best and appreciate the opportunity.
