Letter to the Editor: SOS Supports Non-Override Budget
The following is a letter to the editor from the ad hoc committee Save Our Sherborn.

The Save Our Sherborn Committee wants to state publicly that
- We concur with the Board of Selectmen's unanimous vote October 3, to adopt the formal goal of a non-override operating budget, and that
- We fully support the Sherborn Advisory Committee's FY2013 Omnibus Budget Guidance letter of November 3.
The Advisory Committee seeks to present a workable non-override operating budget to Annual Town Meeting next April. To do so requires that growth in spending be limited.
After several years of constrained spending growth in many departments, and absolute cuts for some, we understand this will be difficult. Nonetheless, we support the Advisory Committee's budget guidance because we believe it is a necessary step to achieve the goal that the many fine qualities of our Town be sustainable for the long term.
To understand our rationale, please see the presentation from our October 24 public meeting, or contact us via the S.O.S website.
