Linsky, Ross Announce Communications Legislation in Sherborn

The following is a release from the office of Rep. David Linsky.

Boston- Representative David P. Linsky and Senator Richard Ross announced today that Governor Deval Patrick has signed into law legislation that will allow the Town of Sherborn to use a parcel of forest land for the purpose of constructing, maintaining and operating a wireless telecommunications facility.   Under current conditions, cellular service and radio communications are almost non-existent in the Farm Pond area.  Because of Sherborn's hilly topography, a repeater antenna on the telecommunication facility in necessary to restore the town-wide public safety radio and cellular coverage.

“This is an important public safety bill for the town of Sherborn,” said Representative Linsky. “Communication is essential in emergency situations and I am pleased that town will now be able to restore radio and cellular communication in the Farm Pond area.

“This law is incredibly beneficial to the Town of Sherborn,” said Senator Ross. “It is so important that there is cellular service available in our communities for emergency purposes. Sherborn’s new facility will help to improve the quality of this vital means of communication throughout the town.”
