Local Cardiologist Honored by American Heart Association
Gerald R. Marx, M.D, of Dover, was recently awarded the American Heart Association's (AHA) Paul Dudley White Award.

Gerald R. Marx, M.D, a Dover resident and pediatric cardiologist at Children’s Hospital Boston, was presented with the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Paul Dudley White Award at the Boston Heart Ball on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Westin Copley Place Hotel.
The Paul Dudley White Award is named in honor of one of Boston’s most revered cardiologists and a founding father of the American Heart Association.

The annual black tie gala featured a “Queen of Hearts” theme and included dinner, dancing and a live and silent auction, generating funds for the AHA research and education programs. More than $36 million of AHA funded research takes place in Massachusetts.
Dr. Marx trained in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Hospital Boston. After his training, he joined the faculty at the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center, followed by the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson, and then Tufts University of School of Medicine before returning to Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital in 1998. Dr. Marx has been a tireless volunteer for the American Heart Association (AHA), both at the national level and local affiliate, serving on numerous committees and boards. He currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the AHA’s New England Affiliate.
