Local Photographer is Dover Library's December Artist of the Month

Dover resident and local photographer Marlayne Brace's work will be on display until the end of the month.

Dover photographer Marlayne Brace currently has her work on display at the Dover Town Library after being selected as their Artist of the Month for December.

Brace, who started selling her work two years ago, began by taking closeups of nature, focusing on things that are very small that the casual person might overlook in order to bring them to the forefront.

She said she focuses on the parts of nature that are calming and soothing and work with individuals to capture those moods and feelings in specialized projects. Brace has photographed gardens, created photo books, created themed displays for offices, hallways, walls, rooms, etc.

"I hope that when people see my photos they are brought into that image's world to feel some peacefulness, rejuvenation and refocus of mind. Let's face it, we all live very busy lives and slowing down even for one minute is good for us all," she said.

Her work will be on display through the end of the month at the Dover Town Library. To see more of her work visit her website.
