Revere Man Sentenced In 2018 Walgreens Armed Robbery
The man's involvement in the robbery of a Walgreens Pharmacy in Sherborn landed him with a prison sentence of 46-52 years.

SHERBORN, MA — A Middlesex judge sentenced Michael Viola to up to 52 years in prison Monday for his involvement in the masked armed robbery of a Sherborn Walgreens Pharmacy in 2018, the District Attorney's Office announced.
The investigation determined that Viola led the planning of the robbery, which occurred September 15, 2018. Two masked men, armed with a handgun and a crowbar, ransacked multiple pharmacy aisles, allegedly stealing over 9,500 pills.
The jury found Viola guilty of four counts of masked armed robbery and multiple counts of drug trafficking, among other charges. Judge Janice Howe sentenced him to 46-52 years in state prison.

“The severity of this sentence reflects the serious nature of this crime and the severe trauma that was inflicted on those who were present during this frightening and violent robbery,” District Attorney Marian Ryan said.
