Sherborn Teen Earns Eagle Scout Rank

Sherborn, MA — Boy Scouts of America Troop 1 Sherborn announces that Willie O'neill has recently completed all the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout. The rank of Eagle is the highest award in Scouting and is earned by less than 4 percent of Scouts. An Eagle Court of Honor will be held in recognition.

Willie's Eagle Project provided an important service at the beach area at Farm Pond in Sherborn. Farm Pond is a place where residents of all ages gather to enjoy everything the pond has to offer. One feature that the pond has needed is permanent seating for guests. Willie's project addressed this need by providing two oversized benches. Willie organized and oversaw the entire project, from design and material selection, through approval and construction/installation. The benches are already a popular feature with seniors, families, and pond visitors of all ages.
