Sherborn Teens Earn Eagle Scout Rank

Troop 1, Sherborn holds Eagle Court of Honor in recognition of Niall Collins and Charles "Chip" McStravick

Sherborn, MA — Boy Scouts of America Troop 1 Sherborn announces that Niall A Collins and Charles “Chip” McStravickhave recently completed all the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout. The rank of Eagle is the highest award in Scouting and is earned by less than 4 percent of Scouts.

Niall’s eagle scout project was one-of-a-kind; he teamed up with the Friends of Pine Hill Committee to build the solar power system for Pine Hill’s new Learning Lab. After contacting a DIY Solar Power company, ordering components, attaining proper permits, and discussing the project with experts, Niall and his crew installed the system as well as a poster explaining how the system works.

Chip’s Eagle Scout project was a sign placed in a highly popular area of his high school campus which provides direction to visitors who are new to the campus. It will help visitors to identify the school's auditorium, gymnasium, and turf field. Before his project was built, the area lacked any proper directions for visitors.
