Three Sherborn Scout Members Attain Eagle Rank
About 4% of Boy Scouts reach the rank of Eagle.

Boy Scouts of America, Troop 1, Sherborn, held an Eagle Court of Honor for Sean Donovan, Christopher Plimpton and Jared Spence on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Pilgrim Church in Sherborn.
Each of the young men recently completed all the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout and received their award at the Eagle Court of Honor. The rank of Eagle is the highest award in Scouting and is earned by less than 4% of Scouts.

Each of these scouts has earned at least 21 different merit badges, including twelve Eagle-required badges.
Each scout has also performed many hours of community service and has organized and carried out an Eagle Leadership Service Project for the community with help from fellow scouts in Troop 1.

Sean Donovan, of Dover, improved access for Powissett Farm volunteers by removing 500 feet of a rusted barbed wire and steel wire fence, rotting and established fence posts, and overgrown vegetation. He also graded the area.
Chris Plimpton, of Sherborn, planned, organized, managed and directed the construction of two bottle-sorting tables for the benefit of the Sherborn Lion's Club. These tables are currently being used at the Sherborn Recycling Center.
Jared Spence, of Sherborn, refurbished, repaired, and replaced 2 Bay Circuit Trail Bridges used by pedestrians, bikers and horses off of Perry Street in Sherborn.
In addition, each of these scouts has held numerous leadership positions within the troop and participated in many high-adventure activities around the country.
These are the latest three Eagle Scouts from Sherborn Boy Scout Troop 1. The troop is comprised of boys from grades 6 through 12 and has been serving the town of Sherborn for over 80 years.
