• River Hawks Explode Offensively in 122-73 Victory against Fisher (goriverhawks.com) — A UMass Lowell men’s basketball junior from Dracut, Mass., chipped in 12 points as the River Hawks erupted for a 122-73 home win over Fisher, their highest scoring game since 1995. Several teammates posted career-best performances, and the team shot 55% from the field. They next travel to Quinnipiac for a Saturday afternoon matchup.
   

• This South Shore town voted on MBTA zoning in less than 15 minutes (patriotledger.com) — Dracut is one of 10 Massachusetts communities still labeled non-compliant with the state’s MBTA Communities Act, even as Hanover just approved its zoning changes in a 12-minute town meeting. The law requires certain towns to create multifamily housing districts near transit or risk losing grants and facing state-imposed zoning. Local leaders will need to decide how Dracut responds before looming deadlines.
