5 Things April 16 in Easton: Two Author Meet and Greets Today
There will be author meet and greets at Village Toy Shop and Ames Free Library today.

1. New England Reptile and Raptor at the Children's Museum in Easton
Todat at 10 a.m.:
Join us at the Museum on Tuesday, April 16, at 10am to learn about New England wildlife and meet some of its inhabitants. Get up close and personal with a real owl and some others that share its home. April Vacation week (AKA Bigfoot Week) is a fun-filled week of science and nature activities as we learn all about animal tracks, investigate the sounds animals make, and learn about the other animals that share the wilderness with Bigfoot!

All April Vacation Week activities are free with admission. The Museum is located in the Old Fire Station on Sullivan Avenue in North Easton Village. 2. An Octopus Named Mom Book Signing at Village Toy Shop

Today at 10:30 a.m.:
Kathleen Flaherty, author and Jennifer Donehey, illustrator are both moms from Millis, MA. Kathleen had a dream to write a An Octopus Named Mom and she has a great story to share about how she made that dream come true.
The perfect story for every Mom who fantasizes about having more than two arms to get everything done and also for the kids that have to learn that this is not possible!
Both the author and illustrator will be at the store. They will read the book and then Jennifer will work with the children on creating Octodoodles. Children both young and old will enjoy this event because it is a great story to be read aloud and the older children will love meeting the author and illustrator. It will be truly inspiring to all those future artists.
If you are unable to make the morning event they will be at our Canton location in Cobbs Corner at 12:30pm
3. Author Visit - Is Your Hair Made of Donuts?
Stop by the Children’s Museum in Easton, on Monday, April 15 at 1pm to meet the author of Is Your Hair Made of Donuts?, Joy Feldman. In Is Your Hair Made of Donuts? You’ll follow Matt and Maddie Blossom on a magical journey that educates children toward making healthy choices.
Also, come in early or stick around after for April Vacation events. The Museum will be open from 9am-5pm. April Vacation week is a fun-filled week of science and nature activities.
4. Meet Author Kevin Symmons at Ames Free Library
Tonight at 6:30 p.m.:
Meet former Easton resident Kevin Symmons, author of the romantic thriller Rite of Passage, the recipient of dozens of 5-star reviews as well as nominated for the Rom Con Readers Crown award, as he talks about his fascinating journey into the world of writing and publishing!
This paranormal tale will keep you turning pages late into the night. Kevin has also recently completed a new contemporary thriller entitled Sanctuary which will be out in late 2013 from The Wild Rose Press.
Kevin is also the President of the prestigious Cape Cod Writers Center and a teacher of creative writing.
