5 Things April 19 in Easton: Bigfoot Week at the Children's Museum
A look at what is happening around Easton today.

1. Easton Shovel Shuffle for Habitat for Humanity
The Easton chapter of Habitat for Humanity is in the process of raising the funds necessary to build a Habitat House on Highland Street. As part of our fundraising and outreach initiative, the Easton Local Partnership Committee (LPC) is launching its first major fundraiser. The “Shovel Shuffle” is an innovative, easy and fun way to assist Habitat in its mission of providing a simple, decent, affordable place for a selected family to call home. As important, advertisement of your business will travel with the shovel to show your support and partnership with Habitat for the selected family in need.
It is this simple: Easton business owners are invited to display a decorated shovel, information packets as to the status of the build and a donation can for one week. By doing so, your patrons, staff and visitors will have an opportunity to donate to the cause. After one week, the shovel would be "shuffled off" to the next location. Before the shovel is transported to a new location, the donations will be tallied, tracked and confirmed with that business owner. The business generating the greatest amount of donations at the end of the shovel’s journey in the Spring will win a corporate build day ($3,000 value) at the Easton site. If you are interested in hosting the shovel, please e-mail eastonLPC@sshabitat.org. This commitment and contribution is minimal.
