Police are investigating an incident involving an alleged assault at South Easton Plaza on Thursday

Easton detectives are investigating an alleged assault Thursday at South Easton Plaza on Turnpike Street.

Police Chief Allen Krajcik said a woman reported leaving her business at approximately 10 p.m. when a black male, 6 ft 2 inches with a rugged build attempted to force his way into the store.

"She reported that he covered her mouth with his hand and that they fought for several minutes," Krajcik said.  "She yelled for help and the suspect fled in an older model SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Traverse."
