Easton Fire Department Responds to Bay Road Fire

A kitchen fire caused first floor damage to a Bay Road home in Easton, but there were no injuries.

A kitchen fire at a two-story home on Bay Road in Easton Saturday afternoon caused damage, but no injuries, Easton Fire Captain Tony Gomes said.

The fire was contained to the first floor kitchen at the 159 Bay Road home. Crews responded at 12:27 p.m.

Gomes said a fire in a wood stove caught some combustibles adjacent to it and spread.

The damage was confined to the first floor, and mostly the kitchen. There was smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported, Gomes said.

Easton Engines 2,4 and 5, and Easton Ladder 1 responded to the scene.

Easton Fire also received assistance from three surrounding communities: a Sharon engine responded to the scene and a Stoughton ladder and West Bridgewater engine covered Easton’s Station 1 during the call.
