Easton House Fire: 'Flames Shooting' From Windows

Easton firefighters battled a house fire on Washington Street.

EASTON, MA — A fire broke out in Easton Saturday morning at an abandoned Washington Street residence, fire officials said. The blaze started at about 7:30 a.m. at 276 Washington Street.

"The home had flames shooting from multiple windows," Easton fire Chief Kevin Partridge said in a statement. "It took about a half hour for the heavy flames to be knocked down and the fire was completely out by about 10 a.m."

No one was injured. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Partridge added, “Our guys, and those who came on mutual aid, did a great job of containing and knocking this fire down as quickly as possible. With multiple homes nearby, I was glad to see that there were no other properties damaged given how heavy the fire was upon arrival.”

First responders from Stoughton, West Bridgewater, Raynham, Brockton and Brewster helped with the firefighting effort.
