Landlord Killed When Trying To Remove Antenna From Taunton Home

Firefighters say a man from Easton was electrocuted while trying to remove an antenna from the outside of a Taunton home.

TAUNTON, MA — A landlord in Taunton was killed Thursday when he was electrocuted while trying to remove an antenna from the roof of a home in Taunton, firefighters confirmed.

An initial police report says the man was out on the fire escape from a three-story home on Danforth Street around 7:30 a.m. when the antenna made contact with a nearby power line, killing him instantly and setting part of the building on fire.

The man's name has not yet been released, but firefighters say he was from Easton.

Taunton firefighters rushed to the scene and were able to extinguish the fire, but could not revive the man.

Taunton Fire, Taunton Police, the State Fire Marshal's Office, and the Bristol County District Attorney's Office say the investigation remains under investigation.
