Remembering Richard "Al" Davis

Richard "Al" Davis was a resident of Easton for the past 35 years. He earned two bronze stars while serving in the military during the Korean conflict.

Richard A. "Al" Davis, age 82, of Easton, passed away peacefully at his home on March 27, 2013 under the care of his family. He was the loving husband of Doris (Loftus) Davis for 59 years.

A resident of Easton for the last 35 years, he also lived in Randolph and was a graduate of Stetson High School Class of 1949. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant and was the recipient of 2 Bronze Stars.

A member of the Randolph Lions Club he served as King Lion. He was also an elected town meeting member for a number of years. Richard worked all his life in the construction business, first building houses and later as a salesman for State Equipment and was also self-employed as the Axle Surgeon of MA.

He enjoyed traveling in his 5th wheel camper and was a member of the Carriage Travel Club. He attended many rallies and also led group excursions across the country. He was president of the club for a number of years. An Avid New England Patriots fan, he enjoyed NASCAR racing, reading and playing card. His favorite times were family dinners spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and leadership.

In addition to his wife Doris, he is survived by his children, Wendy Berry and her husband Bob of Easton, Rick Davis and his wife Linda of Gorham, ME. and Jeanne O'Connor and her husband John of Easton; seven grandchildren, Greg and Andrew Berry, Matt and Bill Davis, Jack and Catherine O'Connor and Tricia (Berry) Burbank and her husband Ed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 10-11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 91 Center Street, Easton followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard's memory may be sent to Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, 111 High Street, PO Box 149, Taunton, MA. 02780.
