Heart's Pathways

The trek to reach you

Is lit by glittering stars—

Hearts in the distance

Reflect the moon’s gentle rays

To illuminate my destiny.

You’ve lived in my mind,

You’ve wandered through my dreams,

And now, we finally meet

For the very first time.

I feel our excitement

Climbing higher and higher.

My heart’s pathways

Opened wide

On that cold, wintry day

When your bright, encouraging words

Lifted me from sadness.

Each morning, I longed

To see your text,

To feel how somebody out there

Truly cared.

Others around me may love me, too—

Perhaps I pass them by

With only a quick “hi” or “bye.”

But you ask deeper questions

And draw out my hidden thoughts.

In that way, we’ve grown

Closer than I ever dreamed.

We walk a different road,

Where heartstrings and inner joys

Let us sing in unison—

And we even love the same songs!

When I arrive, our first kiss awaits,

But first, I want to read you a poem,

Touch your face,

Run my fingers through your hair,

Sit on a park bench,

Hold your hand gently,

And speak of our love

And all it means.

Then, at last, we’ll share

That kiss we’ve imagined

Over and over,

Felt in our minds

Countless times.

Now we are together,
