House Party Leads to Traffic-Halting Fight on Route 138

One was arrested after Easton Police responded.

One was arrested Friday evening after a Washington Street party near Stonehill's campus that resulted in a traffic-halting brawl in the middle of the road.

Christine Vivero, 21, of Connecticut was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct after police arrived on the scene of the fight, Police Chief Allen Krajcik said.

Raymond Bass, 22 of Canton and John Gomes, 21 of Hyannis were also placed in protective custody, Easton Police said.

Krajcik said police were first called at approximately 7:30 p.m. to a house on Route 138 just north of the Main Street intersection. Stoughton and Stonehill Police were called to assist.

"Callers reported that traffic was driving around the people fighting in the middle of the highway," Krajcik said. "On arrival officers observed about 70 people at a large party at 276 Washington Street.  Many empty beer cans and trash were in the driveway and a fight had broken out."

Vivero will appear in court on Monday.
