Letter to the Editor: Fulginiti and Smith Right For the Job

A letter in support of Dottie Fulginiti and Dan Smith

Letter to the Editor:

A few years ago it appeared that the Turner Brothers would have control of the Shovel Shops and build 180 units totally out of character with the area. I then started hearing about something called 40B and someone named Dottie Fulginiti. Knew nothing about either one, researched the proposal from the Turner's and started to read Dottie's site, responsiblegrowthforeaston.org. What a turnaround for me. Dottie basically created a space to educate all of us on what a 40B would mean for us and the impact it would create. She did all of this research on her own and shared this enthustically with us all. Dottie basically became an expert in this field and spoke with the Massachusetts Senate. This is a woman who truly cares about her community and continually wants to make it a better place for all of us. Dottie is one of those people who you see "doing things", helping people, from her involvement in the Easton Lions to the Grange #196. And what makes that so special is that she wants to do it all quietly, never out front to get the credit.

Dan Smith also running for Selectman is cut out of the same cloth, a person with a vision for the Town, concerned about technology, education and economic development for Easton. The father of two young boys, married to a teacher, Dan and his family moved here to live in a place with a great school system, open space and our preservation of historical buildings.

What is important to me with these two candidates when asked on Pat Goodman's "Rants and Raves", on the 25th of March, if they would have voted for the saving of the Shovel Shops via Beacon Communities they enthustically answered "yes" while the other two candidates running, Nestler and Maloney said NO. That's it in a nutshell for me!

Please come out on April 30th and vote for Dottie Fulginiti and Dan Smith.
