Moreau Hall Reading Specialist Named New Principal of Center School

Easton Public Schools Superintendent Michael Green said that after a "long and extensive search," the search committee for Center School's next principal had found the right person for the job.

Moreau Hall Reading Specialist Ann Weintrob will take over for retiring Center School Principal Debbie Dicenso after this school year.

"Thank you very much," Weintrob said at an Easton School Committee meeting Thursday.  "I can’t express how excited I am and honored to be the next principal of Center School."

Weintrob said that as part of the interview process, she toured Center School with Dicenso.

"What a great place." She said. "..It’s really a gift that Debbie’s giving me to be able to start my principal-ship in such a great place. I hope to honor that and continue what she’s done."

Dicenso announced her retirement in February after nine years on the job. Prior to working as a Principal in Easton, she served in Stoughton's school system for 27 years.

School Committee member Colleen Less said the search committee had many qualified candidates to take over.

"It’s an honor for you to join us because Easton was really sitting in the catbird seat as far as the selection process went," she told Weintrob. "We had wonderful, wonderful candidates – you one of them. . I just know you’re going to do a great job over there."
