Muscato Stadium Light Fixture Funding Up For Vote at Town Meeting
School officials will ask for funding for new light fixtures at Muscato Stadium at this year's Town Meeting.

The Easton School Department will ask Town Meeting voters for funding to replace the light fixtures at Muscato Stadium this spring.
The School Committee allowed Superintendent Michael Green to write a warrant article for Town Meeting that could ask for up to $100,000 for the task.
The decision came after OA Athletic Director Bill Matthews presented the school committee with a list of "needs, wants and dreams" Friday. Needs included lights, safety netting for lacrosse and improvements to OA's tennis courts. "Wants" and "dreams" ranged from replacing OA's turf field and wrestling mats to a new equipment storage shed and more field space behind the high school.

Matthews said light fixtures were imperative because after 25 years they are likely to fail - and the failure could come at an unexpected time.
While many companies charge $250,000-$350,000 for light fixtures, Matthews said he was able to obtain a price quote for under $50,000 from N.E. Light in Easton.

"It's a number that I know is still significant but I think it's feasable," he said.
Matthews said the company was credible and has done numerous projects in the area, including Stoughton's football field.
While the School Committee approved up to $100,000 for a warrant article, school officials expect the actual price to be much less.
It is the second warrant article school officials agreed to include on the Town Meeting Warrant. The School Department will also - the bulk of which will be used to add wireless service to Easton Middle School, Olmsted-Richardson School, and the three Easton Elementary Schools.
