A New Year Dawns

It's going to be a new year,

A fresh beginning, bright and clear.

A very new year, hopes anew,

I'll tackle all I didn't do.

Oh, crap, that's right, I must dispose

Of clutter from my life, I know.

I'll clean my closet, car, and garage,

Prepare my space for what's to charge.

Last year, I vowed no more beer,

A promise strong, I held it dear.

For next year, twenty-twenty-five,

I aim to keep my goals alive.

Make new plans, take a new stand,

Forge new friendships, lend a hand.

Strive to be as kind as can be,

Leave behind my rudeness, see.

I pray this year will be much better,

Heal the loss, my heart's deep letter.

I lost my mother, feel so lost,

But hope remains, no matter the cost.

Next year is coming, good and bright,

Please, be kind, embrace the light.
