- Taunton scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win. OA now stands at 9-2.
Tigers Softball vs. Taunton, w 7-5
- Oliver Ames came out victorious in the battle of the Tigers today, 7-5. Mattea Sarnecki pitched a complete game striking out 1.
The Tigers jumped on top in the bottom of the first scoring 3 runs on a Jackie Healy triple (2-3 3 RBIs) and Krystina Lincoln single RBI ( 3-3, 1 double).
Nicole Cosgrove hit a two run home run (2-3, 1HR, 2RBI) in the 4th to get the lead back for OA. OA jumped out again in the 5th with a Lexi Soucie RBI double (1-2).
Tigers Girls Tennis vs Taunton, L 5-0
- Mel Zimmerman, senior tri-captain and the OA Tigers' number one singles, played a great match against Taunton on Friday. She moved her opponent around the court and although she lost the match 4-6, 3-6 showed great skill. Junior Varsity matches were impressive all around. Senior Julia Lowney and freshman Valeria Tueme played outstanding tennis and should be proud of their match play! Sophomore Kaylee Barber and freshman Lark Warner played great doubles play. Their serves were on and they were moving their opponents! Sophomores, Saadia Joseph and Olivia Nikolsky played in two matches today and had some very impressive volleys and service returns. Showing tremendous improvement out on the court, doubles partners Nina How and Jaya Purnell-Rosser played a competitive match against their Taunton opponents.

Oliver Ames pitcher, Mattea Sarnecki, threw a complete game shutout, allowing only 5 hits and striking out 5 with a great defensive supporting cast backing her up through a mentally solid 7 innings.
Offensive standouts included:
Senior Jackie Healy, 3-4 with 4 RBIsFreshman Jamie Gottwald, 3-3 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base Sophomore Kayla Soucie, 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Senior Krystina Lincoln, 3-4 with an RBI.

- OA played a great game against the Black Knights today, out hitting them 13-7 and closing the door on good defensive plays. Offensively, Krystina Lincoln (3-3, 2 runs) and Nicole Cosgrove (3-4, 2RBI) led the way for the Tigers. Erin Lynch and Ariana Scurti also knocked a run in each.
Mattea Sarnecki pitched a complete game, striking out 9 batters and walking only 2.

- Phillip Mickaloweski was the lone winner for OA.

- The Oliver Ames tennis team played a very competitive, close match yesterday against Stoughton. Senior and second singles player, Brooke Simoneau played one of the best matches of the season outplaying her opponent 6-1, 6-2. Brooke showed tremendous placement of the tennis ball and played a match to be proud of! Aggression, superb placement and determination describes the win from OA's second doubles team, Megan Tamasanis and Riley Spillane. They beat Stoughton 6-3, 6-3.

- Multiple goal scorers were senior co-captain Corey McLaughlin and sophomore midfielder Cam McGrath. Also scoring for Oliver Ames were sophomore attackman Albert Basse, senior co-captain Ryan Chase and senior midfielder Sean Brennan. Great play on defense by Justin Davidner, Steve Lucey and Dave Nolan. Sophomore Mike Carroll had a strong performance in the goal.

- OA Girls battled hard for 50 minutes again, as has become the reputation of this team.
Goalie Sydney Corsini played focused and tough in net. She was the OA star of the game with 14 saves.
Lauren Jackson, Corrine Herlihy, Lena Downes, Reagan Cerce, Jaqueline Podolski, Erin Fitzgerald, and Mia Brugnoli-Ensin all battled hard on the defense side of the field.

- The OA tigers defeated Foxboro today with an attack of the bats. Erin Lynch went 2-4 scoring 2 runs, Ariana Scurti went 2-3 with 2 RBIs and Lexi Soucie went 2-4 with 1 RBI and putting 1 run on the board for the tigers.
Mattea Sarnecki pitched 4 striking out 2, allowing only 2 hits. Sarah Struzik closed the game, striking out 4 and allowing 2 hits.

- The OA girls gave a good fight today against Foxboro. The girls came ready to play and they really left it all out on court. Battling through singles points, Mel Zimmerman, Carly Orticerio and Emily Burke played matches to be proud of. First doubles Brooke Simoneau and Julia Lowney had great net play and showed great skill out on the court. Second doubles, Riley Spillane and Megan Tamasanis, truly battled in their match. Losing 3-6, 4-6, the girls had great serves and were really aggressive at the net! Olivia Nikolsky and Saadia Joseph are proving to be a force to be reckoned with on the court. The two won their doubles match and played great tennis! Nicole Eidelman and Kaylee Barber also won their doubles match. The two were in constant communication with each other and their skill was shown against their opponent!

Tigers Baseball vs. North Attleboro w 7-6
- After falling behind 6-0 in the first inning, the Oliver Ames baseball team was able to come from behind and beat North Attleboro 7-6 Monday afternoon at Frothingham Park.
- The Tigers walked off with the victory when Greg Cummings hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Tigers Boys' Lacrosse vs. North Attleboro L 6-5
- The Oliver Ames High School Boys Lacrosse team lost to North Attleboro 6-5 on a hard fought game. Matt Gilson (freshman) had 2 goals, Ryan Chase (Sr captain) had 2 goals and Chandler McLaughlin had 1 goal. Mike Carroll continues to have strong performances
in the goal with 15 saves.
Tigers Softball @ North Attleboro L 8-1
- The score definitely does not show the talent that OA brought to the table against North Attleboro today. Unfortunately, there were some timely hits in the beginning of the game that allowed North to take an early lead, and OA let the lead get too far away from them. Mattea Sarnecki threw all 7 innings for the Tigers allowing 12 hits and earning 7 of the 8 runs against a hard hitting team. Lexi Soucie had a tremendous game with 3 diving catches in the outfield to hold the score at 7 for a chance for a comeback. The Tigers never gave up offensively sprinkling 5 hits off ace pitcher, Meg Colleran and only allowing her mow down 6 batters with strikeouts. Erin Lynch scored the only run for the Tigers, being knocked in by Kayla Soucie

- The OA Tigers battled against North Attleboro today. An aggressive match was played by all. Although NA took the 5 matches, the Tigers fought hard against their opponents and gave it their all! OA coaches are proud of the girls' attempts at the net and the progression in strategic games! Lark Warner and Valeria Tueme took their doubles match today 8-7! The girls fought to the end for this win, it was a great match!

Tigers Softball @ Fairhaven L 12-11
- The OA Tigers were beat offensively by Fairhaven today. The Fairhaven players were aggressive at the plate and found the gaps. The OA Tigers had only one error on the day. Sarah Struzik was on the mound to start and Mattea Sarnecki took over in the third.
Offensive standouts included the Soucie sisters, Kayla and Lexi who batted in the only two runs. Kayla went 2-3 with a triple and single, and Lexi went 3-4.
Tigers Girls' Tennis vs. St. Joe's Prep w 3-2
- OA girls won their first match of the season today against St. Josephs Prep 3-2. Carley Orticerio and Brooke Simmineau showed tremendous doubles play with constant communication that led to a win at first doubles. Emily Burke (2nd singles) battled back from an early trail to win her match 7-5, 6-3. Burke demonstrated patience and excellent placement of the tennis ball! Melanie Zimmerman (1st singles) had an extremely competitive match! Senior, Julia Lowney played 3rd singles for OA. She showed a great deal of effort and skill and was really moving her opponent around.

Tigers Softball vs. Mansfield w 3-1
- The OA Tigers beat Mansfield, 3-1, in a defensive duel.
- Winning pitcher, Mattea Sarnecki, pitched 7 innings, striking out 3 and allowing only 3 hits and 1 unearned run.
- Offensive standouts included Erin Lynch, who went 3-3 with a single, two doubles and scored all three runs for the Tigers. Jackie Healy (1-1) and Krystina Lincoln (1-2) were both able to earn an RBI, knocking Lynch in twice. Kayla Soucie also had a great day at the play, going 2-3 against the Hornets hurler, Letendre. OA maintained solid defense, allowing the Hornets to cross the plate only once.

- Tom O’Leary One singles continues with a very good effort and the first doubles team of Steve Mueller and Tom Dew had an excellent effort.

- Strong tennis was seen from all of the Oliver Ames Girls Tennis Team! Mansfield took the match 5-0 but not without a fight! Catherine Graves (third singles) gave her consistent opponent an impressive battle and she fought through long points. Second doubles team, Megan Tamasanis and Riley Spillane lost an extremely competitive match today. Losing 6-8, 5-7 the girls have a lot to be proud of-they battled back from being down 1-4. Senior Julia Lowney and freshman Valeria Tueme won their doubles match today and both showed competitive spirit and great sportsmanship!

Tigers Softball @ King Philip L 12-0
- Captains Lexi Soucie and Ariana Scurti both singled off of pitcher Anna O'Neill, and junior catcher Nicole Cosgrove doubled. Unfortunately the Tigers were unable to string together hits against the Warriors and fell in 6 innings. Lexi Soucie also had a tremendous games defensively. The Warriors were able to get some key hits off of OA pitching and capitalized on some mental errors.

- OA Boy's tennis team opened their 2013 season with a 0-5 loss to King Phillip. The Team starts 3 freshman and 4 sophomores. Tom Oleary at number one singles and Alex Morales at number 3 singles had very close matches.

- The Oliver Ames Girls Tennis Team has been working hard during our preseason led by tri-captains Melanie Zimmerman, Brooke Simoneau and Emily Burke. Coaches, Melissa Spillane and Danielle Erickson, are very proud of the hard work and determination! Although King Phillip took the match today 5-0, Oliver Ames girls did not give up! Singles players, Melanie Zimmerman, Emily Burke and Catherine Graves battled the wind and gave their opponents a great fight! First doubles (Brooke Simoneau and Carly Orticerio) showed tremendous talent and impressive doubles play. Riley Spillane and Megan Tamasanis (second doubles) are showing great progress as a new and fierce doubles team!
