"Serengeti Siesta: A Lioness's Day Off"
In the sunbaked expanse of the Serengeti, Lana the Lioness was having a rough day. After a morning of chasing her hyperactive cubs, Leo and Leona, around the savannah, she was utterly exhausted. The cubs, however, were still bursting with energy and showed no signs of slowing down. Lana, seeking refuge from both her cubs and the blazing sun, found a shady spot beneath a sprawling acacia tree and sprawled out for some much-needed rest.
"Mom! Mom! Play with us!" Leo pounced around, trying to provoke some action.

Leona joined in, batting at her brother with her tiny paws, "Yeah, let's play fetch!"
Lana, with her eyes half-closed, let out a weary growl. "Ask your father to play fetch with you. I'm lounging in for the rest of the day," she murmured. "And remember, my beauty sleep is sacred—if I don't get enough, things could get wild around here!"

Curious but undeterred, the cubs scampered off, leaving Lana to her dreams of serene, uninterrupted sleep. As they dashed across the savannah, they pondered whom to enlist in their games. "Let's ask Mary the Hippo! She's always fun!" Leo suggested, his eyes lighting up with mischief.
Together, they approached Mary, who was lounging by the riverbank, watching the world go by with a lazy eye. "Mary, will you play with us?" Leona asked with her sweetest smile.
Mary looked at them, then at the river where Roger the Gator was floating like a log, eyeing the banks for an easy meal. "I'd love to, darlings, but make sure you stay clear of the water's edge. Roger is on the prowl, and he’s been mistaking everyone for a drive-thru lunch!"
Leo looked puzzled. "What's a drive-thru?"
"It's like when humans get food without leaving their cars—fast and convenient. Roger thinks he’s at 'MacDonald’s or something," Mary chuckled, shaking her massive head.
Inspired, Leo whispered to Leona, "Let's make a game out of staying away from Roger. We’ll call it 'The Great Gator Dodge!'"
Laughing, they played under Mary's watchful eye, zigzagging across the grasslands, inventing elaborate rules to avoid the 'danger zone' near the water.
Back under her tree, Lana smiled faintly, hearing the distant peals of laughter and knowing her cubs were in good hooves. As the sun began to set, casting long shadows over the savannah, she thought, "Maybe a little chaos isn’t so bad if it ends like this—peaceful and all together."
And with that thought, she drifted off into a dreamless sleep, the sounds of the Serengeti night lulling her into the deepest, most restful slumber she had had in ages.
