From the Shoveltown Baseball Club:
The Shoveltown Baseball Club 15U head into this weekend as the top seed of the New England AAU Open Division and will compete for the New England Championship. The team is lead by a mix of players from Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Easton, Mansfield and Raynham and is coached by Frank Auditore and Ben Pressey.
"The team chemistry is amazing considering most of these players did not know each other outside of baseball" said Auditore.
Pitching and team defense have been the key to this year's success with John Pestana and Chris Newman leading the way from the mound. Mike Boyle, Ryan Adams and Kevin Geary have provided timely hitting at the plate. Shoveltown Baseball Club play their home games at Frothingham Park, train out of Evolution Sports facilities and carry three teams from 13U through 15U.
Tryouts for next season's teams will be held August 25.
